2020 Highlights

In 2020, the core mission of A Simple Gesture-Anacortes, ‘Feed the hungry in Anacortes,’ was carried out more than ever before. Through the generosity of donors, outreach expanded to include:

· nearly 1,000 food bags delivered to children who are food-insecure during summer and winter breaks

· extra food assistance through Meals on Wheels for homebound seniors

· Thanksgiving meats for families at the Anacortes Family Center and meals for Cap Sante High School families

· food table at a public housing complex

· outdoor Red Bag Pantries

· emergency food boxes available to anyone in need

· Christmas meats for The Salvation Army food bank and Anacortes Family Center

· thousands of pounds of food donated to the local food bank
