We just re-opened our Red Bag Pantry outside of the library! Previously located inside the front entrance, the library staff have moved our shelf to the outside entrance across from the bench in a covered area. A Simple Gesture volunteers will stock the food there everyday of the week.
Red Bag Pantries (RBPs) are mini-food closets where anyone in need can find food and toiletries without discrimination or questions. Many people cannot get to the food bank when it is open, so RBPs have been established for public use.
Due to COVID 19, all of the other RBPs have been temporarily closed. Anacortes Family Center has also partnered with us as a resource for those in need of food during this time. If you need an emergency food box, please email Sam@AnacortesFamily.org. She will place a box of food outside of their office with your name on it.
We are so thankful for the many ways our community comes together to serve one another.
